    Redundancy during maternity leave

Hi, My employer has notified me that I will be made redundant and I am currently 1 month into maternity leave. I claim maternity benefit and my employer pays me my gross pay for 6 months less 6 months maternity benefit in a lump sum on my return to work. My return to work would in theory be the...

    Finding old contributions

My father paid contributions to a pension for a period around 30 years ago. How would I investigate the location of that fund at this stage on his behalf? He has no documentation and the company he worked for does not exist. Is this a no chance scenario? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you

    Hillview, Ballinteer, D16

I know Ballinteer generally has a good name but I noticed that properties in the Hillview Estate tend to be far lower in price than the surrounds. Is Hillview not a nice place to live? Is there an element there that has resulted in the lower property values? Any opinions welcomed Thanks

Negative equity huge personal debt unable to make repayments

If I was in your situation, I would sell the house for what you can get. Then rent a better house in Dublin near your work for around 900 per month or less. You will still owe the remaining mortgage but at least now you could be in a better house and near your current job. You have now slashed...

Skint, need help and advice please

Sparky, You are 31 with no savings or pension. You are on here looking for advice to just manage to keep a few extra quid after you're normal outgoings. You've been dropped from a 5 day week to a 3 day week. How solid is that job? Say you get someone in the spare room, that might cover an...

Skint, need help and advice please

Sparky, You've a mortgage worth over ten times your earnings? I would sell that house as quick as you can for what you can, take the hit and then rent. You will be absolutely crucifed when interest rates rise. Get the hell out as quick as you can. Stay at your own peril.

Wrong forum Beneavin - Is it Finglas or Glasnevin?

I'm sorry but this is simply a lie. The OSI calls the area specified Glasnevin North. You have simply said that anything outside of D9 is not Glasnevin and at not one stage have you backed it up with any source whatsoever.

Wrong forum Beneavin - Is it Finglas or Glasnevin?

I think you will find that if you looked at an Ordnance Survey Ireland map that Glasnevin North is not a figment of imagination. So as I understand it An Post, the OSI and DCC (as mentioned by another poster) must all be incorrect and you and csirl are correct. Fair enough so. I'll leave ye to it.

Wrong forum Beneavin - Is it Finglas or Glasnevin?

They are all roads. As in the road to Malahide or the road to Naas. Surely Glasnevin Avenue is a tree lined street in Glasnevin?

End of contract - Welfare entitlements?

In a nutshell a friend is coming to the end of his employment contract. He lives in private rented accomodation and has never claimed any welfare payments before. Can I ask what the standard list of benefits/entitlements etc he may be eligible for? Unemployment assistance/benefit? Rent support?

It means they have no records on you over the past five years, at the address' that you provided. If you think this is incorrect you could always call them.

Wrong forum Beneavin - Is it Finglas or Glasnevin?

An Post consider Glasnevin Avenue as Dublin 11. Is Glasnevin Avenue not in Glasnevin?

    Can mortgage offers be withdrawn?

Honesty is the best policy. Your circumstances have changed. As I understand it you are obliged to provide this new information to the lender. That is a significant drop in salary. Is your new job permanent?

Wrong forum Beneavin - Is it Finglas or Glasnevin?

If you don't want to live in an area because it may be called Finglas, don't buy in Beneavin. Strangely enough I would buy in Beneavin quicker than I would in Ferndale as Ferndale runs down into Finglas East around the girls school there and the back of Johnstown Park which imo is an...
