    Running Toilet

Anybody got any idea how to stop a running toilet? it's one of those with the button on the top to flush it. We find that if we push it & release it quick to flush, it will be running all night, but if we keep the button depressed until the entire cistern empties each time, then it's fine...

    Leaks in new house

Homebond advised me that they don't get involved within the first 12 months, rightly or wrongly, this is what they advised. They, apparently, only act as an intermediary between the Builder and the Customer during this time, instead of getting directly involved.

    Leaks in new house

We had exactly the same problem with leaks, two from toilets, and one in the wall; not to mention the set concrete in the sewerage drains, back door, which wouldn't open, cracked window. It took the builder approx 3 months to send someone out. This was further to a number of promised visits...

    Draught from Open Fire

We have just moved into a newly built detached House, and are having a problem heating the Living Room. The Open Fire we have does not have a Damper / Draught Excluder to close off the chimney when not being used, and hence block any draughts. I've spoken to a Builder, and apparently, the...

    Gas Hob & Counter Top

We just moved into a new House, and the Counter Top in the Kitchen (where the Hob should go) does not have the relevant sized Hole cut into it. I realise that this may be a silly question, but does anybody know of a Gas Hob Installer who will instal the Hob & also cut the Hole in the Counter...

    Nolans kitchens

Nolans do have a good reputation, I wish I'd known about it when we bought an Apartment 2 years ago. We dealt with Cash & Carry Kitchens, and had huge trouble from start to finish. It took a long time to get them to finish some of the Units. The Appliances we bought through them, oh...

    Gas Boiler has no pressure

I turned the valve on my Boiler last night, and it went from 0.2 to 1.5, but within about 2 hours it went back down to 1. It remained at 1 overnight. Any suggestions?

Estate Agent will not accept our offer!

Re: Estage Agent will not accept our offer! We were in your exact position fairly recently, and got so frustrated with the EAs saying this very thing that we held off viewings until we sold our property (which didn't take long). By chance, we've found a new House, which is better than the...

    Old Key post: engagement rings

Re: Key Post: Engagement rings Let's be honest though, any man (and I am a man!) who doesn't buy the girlfriend an Engagement Ring when he proposes, puts herself in an awkward position when she announces her news to family & friends. Also, he would be classed as a Cheap Skate! Am I wrong...

What/What Not to Buy at Lidl/Aldi

Coddle is a Dublin-wide Dish. My Mother used to make it & she's from Phibsboro, and my Grandmother made it, and she's from the Libo's, so I don't think it's confined to there.
