is it a good idea to install DTT now?

There's no single answer. In some places and old coat hanger will do it. It all depends one where you live, how far from a transmitter and where on the house you are able to fix an aerial. And, the DTT tests are not available everywhere. Best thing is to ask your neighbours.

is it a good idea to install DTT now?

It might work in the attic if the signal is strong enough. You'd just have to try it and see. For DTT, I just use an indoor aerial, near a window, facing generally towards where the signal is coming from.

    microsoft software not genuine?

Two possibilities - 1: Someone else is using your license key. 2: You've modified your machine to a point where the OS thinks it's been moved to a different machine. Try reinstalling your OS from the original media and then re-apply the license key from the certificate you go with it. This...

is it a good idea to install DTT now?

You can save a bundle by ditching Sky, but you'll lose the movies and foootie. You'll get BBC, ITV, C4 etc from a FTA system. An aerial will be needed for RTE etc. It's the same aerial whether it's DTT or analogue. So, you can't lose on that. For the better quality of DTT (albeit not...

    free to air skybox

I'd say you must be quite close to a transmitter to get RTE with no aerial (assuming you're not on cable with NTL or UPC).

    free to air skybox

Well, you can't get RTE TV on a satellite dish unless you're paying Sky. You can get RTE radio for free though. How do you call up RTE, is it in the same list as the FTA channels such as BBC or do you press a buttoon (such as '1') on the TV remote?

Trying to Copy File onto CD-RW

There are two ways of using a CDRW: DLA- Drive letter access (treats it like a hard disc....kind of) Using disc burning software, e.g. 'Roxio' or 'Sonic'. You don't say what kind of computer operating system you have, so it's difficult to be more precise. But - normally, you don't format a...

    freeview reception dublin

I'd say that's a 'no' unless you've got a really big aerial and a good location...and...and... Best & most reliable option is FreeSat.

    DAB radio not working properly

Yes. No. DAB uses VHF signals from land-based transmitters, just like FM radio. You might get extra channels if the owners think its worth their while to pay the cost of transmitting from them. Sky uses satellite, you need a dish and a satellite tuner (can be a FTA tuner).

    Recommend me a HDD Camcorder

Problem with the high-def and the hard-disc cameras is that they record in compresssed formats and are very poor with moving subjects. The main benefit is the speed of transfer to computer or disc. With DV, the capture straightforward and is via FireWire. It will take 30 minutes to capture 30...

    Sat for free view systems

That was last year. No need now, Channel 4 and Five are available without any card, just like BBC and ITV. And it's totally legit. No dodgy boxes or cards needed. Basicly FreeSat gives you all the best UK channels but you need an ordinary aerial for the 4 Irish ones. The 'FreeSat' satellite...

    DAB radio not working properly

I get all the RTE channels but not all 80's etc. Try moving to a different side of the house and re-scan. Digital signals are not like FM, they cut out completely when the signal gets low.

Has anyone any experience with Talk Talk?

I had big problems with them cold-calling me and even though each time I'd tell them not to call me again & point out that I was on the 'do-not-call' list, they'd ring again. Also, they refused to provide a managers name and the address of the company's registered office. I think some of the...

Digital book readers - would you recommend?

With real books, you can swap them with your friends or give them to charity shops when you're finished with them. I think eBook readers are a solution chasing a problem that's mostly in the minds of the rights-holders.
