Key Post Switch or re-fix my mortgage? Breakage fee calculator and savings estimates for your case (Ireland)

Ulster bank have quoted a release fee of e422 on 13/04, not far off your e500 mark. I have since found out I quoted the wrong ber, only at a C3, which rules out Haven's green mortgage.

AIB Aib ex staff - getting €1,650 compensation

My mortgage is currently under review with them, in the formal process. Staff business did phone me & tell me as I requested to come off the tracker myself that I not eligible under the redress scheme, but I'm not accepting that until I hear back formally from the review.

    Solicitor Switching Costs

We recently switched mortgages, availing of KBC €1000 solicitor switching costs. We got the bill from the solicitor last week, totalling €1700. His fee along was €1000, Vat, land registry fees & searches make up the remainder €700 I had foolishly assumed the €1000, would have covered all of the...

Key Post In the light of the recent rate cuts, should I fix my mortgage rate?

We are switching to KBC at the moment, have LTV <60%. Would it be better to take they fixed rate @3.3% for a year, rather than their 3.65% variable rate? Hoping to save €125 a month from existing AIB mortgage on this 3.3% rate! :-) Just afraid rates will drop lower than 3.3% in the next yr or so...

Home Renovation Incentive missed the deadline date

Just to update this old thread on the HRI scheme, in case anyone is searching old posts, looking for info on this issue. Good news! I contacted Revenue today and they have disregarded the previous May deadline, for works completed in 2013, you can now claim for work completed that year. Delighted!

Home Renovation Incentive missed the deadline date

We got a new boiler & water tank last Dec. Had been meaning to look into grants under the HRI scheme but only got to it today & contacted the plumber. They said that works completed between Oct-April, had to be input in HRI online by May 8th. Looks like they are right from Revenue's site. Seems...

    Alternatives to Eircom Phonewatch

We have moved to a new house that currently has Eircom Phonewatch installed, but is currently not activated. They have quoted us €25 pm for activating & having a monitored alarm with them. Are there any cheaper alternatives out there, could we use the existing eircom alarm system & set it up...

What is Olcovar apartments in Shankill like to live in? How far from DART?

Have a friend that lives there, visitor parking not great, they have 2 spaces & 2 cars which they move around to someplace else, not sure where when they have visitors, bit of hassle. It's a good 25 mins from Dart station, bus outside the development though. Seems pretty quiet
