    Cross Border Search Warrant

Aside from the European Arrest Warrant, do the Garda have the capability to get a search warrant for Northern Ireland (in relation to a relatively minor offence)? Can a citizen of the Republic get a law firm to apply for a civil search order that applies in Northern Ireland?

Turning Off Electricity Supply to Units of Non-Payers

Is it legal for a management agent, (after serving notice in writing of the time periods involved) to turn off the electricity supply to units belonging to non-paying apartment owners in time periods of for example, between 10am and 1pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for a fortnight? This...

    Members after Reinstatement

If a company has 7 members and is struck off, and is then re-instated with two directors and a secretary, are the 7 original members still members? I think the only members would be the new directors and new secretary? (I don't know if it is relevant but the company was struck off for late...

An apartment block of 40 units was built in 2001 (before the Multi Unit Development Act 2011). A management company was formed and the memorandum and articles of association stated that there were 7 members. Does that mean that the apartment owners other than those seven people listed on the...

Marriage equality referendum - "rights" to kids etc.

Excuse my ignorance but legally what changes if the referendum passes? I think that homosexual couples have the right to adopt after 3 years. The Children and Family Relationships Act 2015 provides that civil partners and cohabiting couples who have lived together for three years will be...

    Ireland's most successful sports achiever

Judged mainly for efforts over long career BOD would take my vote. If I was judging solely on the basis of producing glimpses of sporting genius, I would have to vote George Best.

    Access to Health Records

I think that you are entitled to the medical records, or to be more exact, your wife is entitled to her records. I would be very surprised if Mount Carmel didn't have a process for dealing with queries like this. I'd say you'll get them no bother.

If someone Slipped & was Injured - Who's Responsible

I think it is as simple as follows: If you neither own nor occupy the area in question then you are not legally liable for any accidents that may occur in that area. The local council should be able to confirm if it is their responsibility to maintain the area.

    Free Access to Legal Cases

Thansk very much for your suggestion. That website is very handy but doesn't have the case I want. But I managed to get the judgement on Boland vs An Bord Pleanala in the meantime. Thanks again.

Penalty points Alan Shatter and Mick Wallace

Well said. The Sunday newspapers were full of these stories. I'm sure there are more relevant political issues to discuss than these.
