    Revolut Shared Vaults

Ok, thanks for the reply. So a great deal of trust is involved here, whether it’s two people or a group of people.

    Revolut Shared Vaults

Does anyone know if using a shared vault do all parties have access to the full fund or just what they have put in themselves. Can’t find an answer online.

What’s a typical credit card limit?

I have an AIB credit card for over 20 years, my initial limit was €2000. Their internet banking had a button where you could request an increase every now and then, so I kept doing it to see how irresponsible they would be. Got it up to €14000 over a few years and then the button disappeared...

Provide full access to account without making it a joint account

Can you not just request a second card in her name? I put my cards on my wife’s Apple Pay for emergencies.

Why is Irish banking so rubbish

That calculator thing is a pain. I get it’s very secure, but you need to have it to hand. Tore the house apart one day and couldn’t find it so had to get a new one sent out and pay for it. Took 5 days and I had to delay an urgent transaction

    Revolut Loans

Anytime I get a loan or top up loan from AIB, it is in my account instantly. One time I was buying a car and told them I’d take it but must arrange finance. Applied on the app while he did my paperwork, two minutes later the money was in my account and I paid him straight away

    Revolut Loans

I only use my Revolut account for messing with crypto, national lottery on rare occasions and even rarer deposits to paddy power. So based on that they would probably reject it straight out

    Revolut Loans

I presume it’s read only, I stopped the application before the end but I think the next step was to log in to my AIB online banking via the Revolut app so they can access it to check my finances,

    Revolut Loans

Was just looking today and they were offering loans at 5.98%, this is way below what I am paying AIB, just under 9% I think. I have a small personal loan of €4000, was considering using a Revolut loan to pay off the AIB loan, up the repayment and cut the time left on it. They wanted to link to...

Switch to new rate with current lender question...

Not without going through all my old paperwork, but from memory I have changed at least 4 times. I got caught once alright when I fixed and the variable rate went lower. The breakage fee question is always the first one I ask.

Switch to new rate with current lender question...

I’m with EBS and have been fixed for most of the last ten years, anytime there is a rate change, I ask to redux at the lower rate and they always give it to me and no breakage fee

Why do some lenders give lower rates on homes with better BERs?

I was about to post a question on this when I found this post. I’m currently on 2.75% fixed with EBS. I want to try and get the green mortgage rate if I can. Anytime there has been a rate change they allow me to change without a breakage fee. Two of my neighbours houses are rated at c1/c2 so...

    AIB stamp duty

Got charged €3 stamp duty today. Is this in addition to bank charges? I rarely take actual cash out.

    2 pensions, should I combine?

Thank you for the reply, I have a lot to think about. Just unsure is there any point having two pensions, especially as one is paused, and has the bulk of the money in it

    2 pensions, should I combine?

AIB/Arklife, I’d need to check the fees. Also I must check the fees on my new one and if they would even accept a transfer. Thank you for the reply

Tax implications for small online business

I am a paye worker. Considering setting up a small online business. Basically I will be buying components of a product, paying vat on them. Assembling them and selling online in Ireland only. I expect to be well below the vat threshold to register for vat. Do I charge vat and pass it on to...

First time form 11, nearly 70% tax on rental income estimate!

That seems very high. I do my wife’s tax return on her rented house and on 11k rental income the tax bill was around €3600. I assume you have the mortgage interest deducted, that is normally a nice chunk. And we are barely breaking even at that. It’s a noose having a second house these days...
