Thanks jpd.
I should have paid 100% of the tax that I had payed the previous year. That would be the best option as it can be difficult to predict tax due on a volatile fund.
Can you help me with my query about offsetting tax credits against tax due on this fund?
Ok I see there is still confusion about Offshore investment funds. I had a query on here last year about a Global Real Estate Euro P accumulation fund which is based in Luxembourg and is classed as a SICAV fund.
Last year I had to pay a very large sum of tax on this fund at 41% due to the eight...
Thanks Marc for the above information.
The fund I have is the Global real Estate Euro P Acc so it is an accumulation fund and i don't get dividends separately.
I fully agree with you that the fund charges are very high. This fund has done very well over the last six or seven years.
Unfortunately...
Not at all.
My accountant advised me not to contact revenue as it might bring attention to me. Maybe he doesn't want attention brought to him.
I am sure he has made mistakes like a lot of accountants do.
Yes you are right landlord.
I was trying to set up another email account but I got bogged down in my efforts.
I may wait and get my son or daughter to do it for me.
What is the best way to contact Susan ?
Will Susan give me tax advice if i don't give her my name?
Can I send Susan an email with a query and except a reply if i don't give Susan my name?
Yes this does seem to be quiet penal. I would say a lot of people (accountants included) do no realize this. I always knew that you couldn't offset losses from another fund but I presumed you could within the same fund as this would seem the logical thing to do. I ran a few calculations and if...
Ah no, so that means if you sell units at a loss at 11.00am, 1.00pm, 2.00pm, and 3.00pm and then you sell some units for a gain at 4.00pm on the same day that you suck up the losses and pay 41% tax on the gain you made on the 4.00pm sale.
I Think it might be a UCITS Fund.
I sold half of my original investment ( September 2006) at various stages ie. 2010, 2011 2012 all at a loss. Then in November 2014 I sold almost all the remaining units for a higher price than what I originally paid for them. However I am still making an overall...
I invested in the Sarasin Global real estate Fund over eight years ago.
The name of the fund is "JSS global real estate Euro P acc"
Does anyone know how this fund is treated for tax ?
If I ring Revenue will they insist on me giving them my name.
I have tried a few accountants, two didn't...
What is the best way for me to buy and sell shares, also ETF's. Worldwide.
At the moment I am only talking about a few trades a year but for big amounts of money.
Execution only is what I want.
Online is suitable.
Aviva Have paid out the 36,000.
A doctor sent in his claim late and Aviva are looking for five years medical records in order to process this claim.
This claim related to some test ( I don't know which) I had on the morning I was leaving the hospital after my operation.
If I have to pay for...
Yes I was aware of the 5 year rule and expressed my concern to the surgeon who was going to perform the operation.
He said ring Aviva and give them the codes.
I did this, The person in Aviva who I was speaking to said she would check to see if I was covered. She came back to me a few minutes...
I rang them and told them I had to have two procedures. They told me I was covered after leaving me on hold so that they could check my eligibility and wished me all the best for my upcoming operations.
Hi, I joined Aviva health in December 2009, I was 49 years old. It was my first time to take out Health insurance.
In February 2012 I had a heart valve operation and Aviva settled the claim in July which came to about 36,000 Euro.
In December 2012 I received a letter from Aviva asking for five...
