Amount of time taken to respond to request to negotiate

I'm thinking it may be easier to give some basic information before I explain in a bit more detail. Lender: Ulster Bank Term: 30 years (22 years remaining) Neg Equity?: Yes Monthly Repayments: €1,300 Income: €246 per week & Supplementary Welfare Allowance of €80 & 1 x Child Benefit payment per...

Your FIS wouldn't be affected until the review date. Once you are granted FIS the figure doesn't change until your next review.

Anyone try one of the "Secret Hotels" in London?

We've also used Hotwire for London hotels and haven't had cause to complain. The savings just can't be beaten for that class of hotel.

MBNA has overcharged its customers by €18m!

Just to update as I was one of the customers with a closed account. A cheque arrived today for an amount just over €100. There was no explanation with it, no details of compensatory interest or otherwise. I'll be emailing them and requesting a full breakdown shortly so it will be interesting...

Confused by Duration of Fixed Rate offered by Ulster Bank

Cheers, no wonder I found it confusing!

Confused by Duration of Fixed Rate offered by Ulster Bank

Thank you, sorry I apologise I should have said 2, 3 & 5 year fixed rates. After a long phone call with the bank this morning I can confirm that they do not actually offer 2/3 or 5 year fixed rate mortgages. They offer a general term of approximately 2, 3 or 5 years until a set date - set out...

Confused by Duration of Fixed Rate offered by Ulster Bank

Can anyone advise? Ulster Bank are offering 3 x fixed rates on their website. Standard 1, 3 & 5 Year rates. But I don't understand that they say fixed rate until: 1 Year - 31st December 2011 3 Year - 31st December 2012 5 Year - 31st December 2014 Does this mean that if I fix my mortgage at...

family court directed equal division child benefit, problem

Child benefit in full is normally paid to the mother of the child/custodial parent/custodial guardian. I'm not sure that there is a provision for it to be divided. Can you not come to some arrangement with the other custodian to have it paid into 1 account & 50% transferred to yours?

MBNA has overcharged its customers by €18m!

I'm also in the same position. Interesting I can still log into my account online even though it has been closed. There have been no credits made to my account but considering my account is closed that doesn't surprise me. I guess we'll just have to wait for the post.

    new changes to fis

For an unmarried parent prior to the changes in April 09 a claimant could reduce their means by the amount of the maintenance paid to the other parent for child maintenance. Since April 09 a claimant can't do that and the full of their income is assessed as means for FIS. Whether or not they...

There was an announcement on this on Liveline this afternoon. Apparently they are temporarily closed as they try to negotiate with their debtors and get further investment.

Are banks obliged to notify you in writing of changes to a mortgage repayment?

We bought a property in 2003 & our TRS expired on 31/12/2009. Our first repayment for January 2010 reflected the TRS being gone and we didn't receive any notification of a change to our repayments. We didn't expect to receive anything because all documentation from the bank states the...

    commercial rates, and 'temporary mezzanine'

That seems to be an average "asking" rent according to a quick search on DAFT. As Vanilla says there is a big change in commercial leases at the moment. Have you looked into/requested extras such as a rent free period etc? I would also seriously consider engaging a good solicitor to review...

    commercial rates, and 'temporary mezzanine'

I couldn't agree more. Excellent advice & do not even consider signing a lease until the rates are paid and up to date.

    commercial rates, and 'temporary mezzanine'

Before you commit Joe I'd do a quick planning search on the property. Check if PP has been granted for a temporary or permanent mezz (if at all). That would also have an impact on rates & rental valuation. Obviously if it's a permanent structure then you would have to pay for the psf value...

    commercial rates, and 'temporary mezzanine'

I'm familiar with this. Rates are not payable on a "temporary" mezzanine. It can't be part of the original construction and it must be able to be removed without damaging the original building. Interestingly this also means that when it comes to charging rent psf/psm the mezzanine should be...

    Child Maintenace query

Would it not be a good idea to set up a central account for the child into which you both pay for annual expenses? These would include school books, uniforms, doctor's visits, christmas etc, etc. Agree a set amount between yourselves. Seeing as you are sharing custody/access and you are the...

    Buyers Agent

There's definitely one based in the North Dublin area. I saw a sign recently for them. The only way of finding out their fee would be to ask them. I'm assuming that their fee structure would be either (a) a fixed price for finding and acquiring you a particular type of house in a certain...
