    Registering a not-for-profit. Should I? How do I?

My social/community project has recently received a small amount of funding from a philantropic association and now I need to determine what legal structure I should proceed with. I've been advised that it might be best to register as a not-for-profit but I don't really know enough about my...

Books / guides for doing ROS tax return?

I've done my own tax return for the last few years on ROS but, to be honest, have wondered each time if I really knew what I was doing. Is there a book / guide one can get that offers better explainations than those offered on the ROS help system. Or more generally, what books do people...

    Are there free hotspots?

That's right Welfarite and we've got a whole lot of them marked on the map, using green, yellow and red colour codes to distinguish between free, voucher required and paid. If anyone comes across a new one please add it to the map (it's set to open collaboration so all you have to do is login...

    Are there free hotspots?

Thanks Rainyday for mentioning our collaborative Google Map of Irish wifi hotspots. I'd just like to note that we have now applied a consistent colour code to the several hundred pushpins such that it's easier to determine whether a hotspot is free and open, voucher required or paid. BT...

Transferring Vodafone shares - taxed where?

Thanks again ClubMan. One more question by the way - what is the "Account Designation" referred to on the form? They omit to tell one in the instructions and I can't find any reference to it.

    High Definition TVs

Well I'm only learning about HD now Carlo but from what I've picked up on so far I would say that HD is not essential at the moment (and probably not for some time) but you will of course future proof yourself by buying a HD Ready set. Like you though, I don't have Sky and can't see myself...

Transferring Vodafone shares - taxed where?

Thanks ClubMan. I don't know whether the support person at Computershare didn't pick up on my Irish accent or just assumed I was living in the UK but I was told it was the English Revenue I had to pay. Thus my confusion.

Transferring Vodafone shares - taxed where?

I'm selling my Vodafone shares to my brother and downloaded the Stock Transfer form from Computershare.ie. It wasn't clear though where the tax is payable. Can someone tell me please if I need to pay British Revenue or Irish Revenue?
