The size of the council will be a factor too. You can ask HR how many current vacancies they have at the moment.

Preserved pre-2013 pension and rejoining public service

Yes that's the case in the HSE too and I assume all the public service. After 6 months break in service you move to the current scheme. Your old contributions are preserved (assuming you didn't get a refund). If you're on approved leave you stay on the scheme you were on.

    Podcast recommendations

I'd recommend Off Air. Its on 4 days a week. Its hosted by Jane Garvey and Fi Glover. They have an old podcast called Fortunately which was great too. Its a mix of subjects but is light entertainment I'd say. Both former BBC broadcasters who were head hunted by Times Radio. They also have a...

The email should be sufficient. No reason it wasn't acted on. At this stage it up to them to prove they didnt act on that instruction.

    PRSI misclassification implications for employee

She was put on the incorrect class because she stated on her application form from x date to y date break in service. If she had a break prsi A was correct. If she stated she was doing a HSE course she would have been put on class D. Refund of prsi is limited to 4 years (like tax). I agree the...

I'm in the HSE and have had one these. From memory it spaned over 20 too. She was put on class A as the application said there was a break in service. It later transpired she was on a paid course. The record was corrected and payroll recalculated the PRSI and superannuation. From memory she...

Health Insurance Private Health Insurance for 50 year old single female

I have a very basic plan, so won't have to pay loading. Generally in good health, would be interested in GP refunds, consultant, dental and optician etc. I am PRSI D so no entitlement to SW benefits, but get full sick pay within the rules. What is the best plan for me. Thanks in advance.

    Appreciation of snowyb

Absolutely. I was about to post but someone with a similar request posted last week. With the amount of plans I'd have no issue paying for the advise. Well done Snowyb. Praise very well deserved.
