    Just re kids and college etc. what we do is we save the children’s allowance for college. Then we each put in €5 a week to an account for them. We see this as their gap year fund or if the want to buy a car perhaps.

    Sign up for membership on their website and you will get access to tickets. Could be cup games but still worth it for the trip over. I'd stay in the city if you are going to be there for longer than just the match.

    I cannot wait to go back as its been a while. I'd recommend doing Rockerfeller Centre rather than the empire state building. (I've done both). You get a great view of the empire state building itself and I personally thought better views overall. MOMA museum is great and the exhibitions change...

    Iawoman lots of options for retirng early - buy back service - Defence forces and Gardaí can retire younger with specified service. They might be going on a reduced pension at an earlier age.

    I’d clear the mortgage now from savings. You’re planning to do it when the inheritance comes through anyway. Why wait. With the interest rates gone up you’ll save on that. Then wait til inheritance comes through to do the work on the house.
