    Social Housing Ratio in Estate?

The council can do what they like Im afraid. They do pay maintenance fees though. Check with the maintenance company if they have paid them and ask them why they are putting them up. Or if you have a residents committee they should be able to find out easily enough.

    Laser card charges

My sister was using her bank of Ireland laser card all week with no problems. She went to an atm today to withdraw some money and found that there was nothing there. When she investigated it turned out that a direct debit had come out the previous week which she had forgotten about. This left...

    Massive Debt - worst ever

The vincent de paul can be a great help. They might be worth keeping in mind. Your local health board office may give you an emergency payment if you applied to them. Both of the above helped me when I was in difficulty. How about selling the car and buying something older and cheaper.

rent supplement refused, no accomodation to be found within upper limits for RS

I am surprised they are being so harsh. I have had experience of them in the past and I found them helpful. They did expect masses of paperwork though, about 6 months of bank statements, statements for all loans, evidence of income and outgoings. I told them we had borrowed from family to get...

You should look into fis - family income supplement. They take into account all your bills, loans etc. It is a very good scheme, a bit awkward to getat first but worth the hassle.

My Dad worked in England for roughly eleven years in the 1970's. He then emigrated to Ireland where he has worked for the rest of his life. He is now nearing retirement (3years away) and has found out that he would be entitled to half the state pension in England. They also told him he could buy...

Are they dumping it in there in just black bags? If so that is terrible, it would only take one cat to come along and rip everything out. Surely they know it should be in bins. Was there anything on the contract about having to use a bin.

    Any benefit for part-time worker?

Have you tried fis(family income support) it is done by social welfare. They take your debts and a certain number of expenses into account when accessing you so even if you think you are above the income threshold they advertise you might not be.

Congrats on the door! Hopefully ours will also be replaced. A commitee sounds good, maybe we could also use the neighbours site, sometimes it is easier to say something online than in person.
