    TRS not changed to 30%

Thanks Rameire. Sorry to hear about the accident, hope you're on the mend.

    TRS not changed to 30%

We got our first increased payment from ICS at the end of May. What I'm not clear on is how they're dealing with what is owing for January to April, will we get an extra payment or is it spread over the payments through the rest of the year. How are other banks dealing with this? I'll put a call...

    Toyota Prius second hand

We're looking at a 08/09 Prius to replace a 04 Honda Accord that is very heavy on petrol and road tax. It will mostly be used for a 45min each way commute on motorway so based on some of the feedback above maybe it's not the right choice? In the future (18 months or so) it will likely become the...

Any advice on these parts of south Dublin?

Just mentioned those two Complainer because we happened to see houses for sale there. Thanks everyone for the feedback, I think Stillorgan Wood is our preference overall. We just missed one that was within our range. Drove by at the weekend and they were filling a skip outside it!

Any advice on these parts of south Dublin?

Thanks Dereko1969 for the feedback. I know there is a service charge in Ballintyre but didn't realise there was in the other places? I would have thought that info should be given upfront in the advertising of the property. Thanks for the heads up. Tarfhead, in terms of an investment, I mean it...

Any advice on these parts of south Dublin?

We have started searching for a new house and we're focusing on the following areas as they are near enough to family. We have a new baby and are planning on expanding our family in the coming years so our priorities are the proximity of good schools and amenities, and ideally a nice community...

    Booking a "non-package" sun holiday

+1 to ownersdirect.co.uk and ryanair / aer lingus. I have used them for villas in Provence and southern Italy and I've been really happy with my choices.

    Planning Costs

€500 to design a house to planning. Wow. Regvw remember this is your house that you and your family will live in day in, day out....do you really want the cheapest option? I suggest you do some research (searching through this forum for example) into what goes in to bringing a set of...

Power City - Good On ye

Have to agree with the OP. I ordered a new washing machine yesterday morning, within 5 minutes received a call back confirming delivery today and that they would do their best to give me the time I wanted. A few hours later I got a text confirming delivery time. All very good so far - hopefully...

    How long to finish extension

To be fair Gabbo the reason people won't answer you is because there simply would be no point, any answer based on only the info you have given is not worth anything to you! Why don't you discuss it with your builder, using some of ONQs headings to prompt him, and if you don't trust the honesty...

Recommend holiday home on hotel site in Ireland?

+2 on the Fota Island Lodges, especially the bigger ones looking on to the golf course. Mount Juliet also have some beautiful self catering options.

Recommend luxury hotel & spa - central Dublin please

Ah I'm jealous! I was given a voucher for the spa there a while ago and I have to say it was one of the nicest spas, and best treatments I've ever had. Have a great time!

Recommend luxury hotel & spa - central Dublin please

The Merrion Hotel would be the most luxurious option, and it's very convenient to St Stephens Green and Grafton Street. La Stampa Hotel has a wonderful spa and is right on Dawson Street so you can't get much more central than that. Enjoy!

    Cheap house insurance

I second Getcover.ie I have been with 123.ie and it had been the cheapest up until this year when the quote went up by over 150. Following a phonecall they knocked 100 off it but getcover were still cheaper by another 60 for slightly better cover.

Non-resident but income paid from Ireland - can we claim back the tax?

Thanks for the reply. But I kind of see it as have a huge cake but not get to eat any of it!! He would still be working for the same company - albeit a different branch - so we didn't expect him to lose his years of service accumulated thus far. It could be that the pension arrangements are...

Non-resident but income paid from Ireland - can we claim back the tax?

Myself and my husband are considering an offer of employment in the UAE. He will be moving within his company, from Dublin office to a UAE office, and was advised that in order to retain his valuable defined benefit pension, he would be 'on assignment' and therefore salary would be paid from...

    Planning permission costs

Pjordan, I hope you don't think I was talking down to you or to anyone else reading this thread. My post was in reaction to your statement that you felt €120 would be a reasonable cost. You have since corrected yourself but to be fair you didn't make it clear that when you mentioned €120 you...

    Planning permission costs

To the OP: Do you honestly expect someone to prepare and submit a planning permission for €120? Do you have any idea of the work that goes into this? I am astounded at people claiming that quotes are completely unreasonable when they clearly have no idea what it takes to prepare a...
