Living abroad - CGT liability on ESOP shares

In 2009 I bought shares in my company through the Employee Share Ownership Plan, which meant I paid no income tax on the amount invested. I can now sell these shares and understand I will have a CGT liability (due to an increase in the share price). However, I now live full-time outside of...

    Contractor in Germany, tax status

Hi, I'm hoping that someone can help me on this query for which I have had conflicting advice. I will start to work for a German agency to work as an engineer in Germany for one year. I need to invoice the agency, so assume I will need to set myself up as a company or sole trader. My question...

Form 11: tax status after emigration

Further to this question, after reading the Pay and File Guide, it seems that I was "resident" in Ireland for 2010 (>280 days in 2009 and 2010). If I read this correctly it means I have to pay Irish tax on my German income (less the German tax I already paid). Is this correct ?

Form 11: tax status after emigration

Hi, I was PAYE in Ireland, but have to complete a Form 11 for 2010 due to previous additional income. I moved to Germany in March 2010, meaning I only had 2 months income in Ireland for the last tax year. I have some questions regarding how to put this information in my Form 11: 1. Do I...

    DIRT declaration in Form 11

Hi, Up to last year, Form 11 asked for the total amount of DIRT paid. Now, due to changes in DIRT, it now asks for the following: Gross Deposit Interest received on which DIRT was deducted (i) In respect of the period 1/1/2009 - 7/4/2009 taxable at 23% (ii) In respect of the period 8/4/2009...

Looking for suggestions to get from Naas to UCD or kylemore rd to UCD by public trans

I used to do the Kylemore Road to Belfield trip some years ago. I didn't find anything better than going into town on the 79/78A and then the 46A to Belfield. It's a bit of a trek to be honest. The 18 is infrequent and goes around the world. The 51X didn't go anywhere near my part of Kylemore...

    Approved Share Scheme- form 11

Hi Majj, no problem, indeed it kickstarted the conversation. Actually, my main concern is how to report my income for 2009. If I report my full income for 2009, I will be expected to pay tax on it all. How do I communicate to Revenue that part of it was used to purchase shares via this...

    Approved Share Scheme- form 11

To complicate this question: - part of the sum invested came from my bonus and never showed up as income for the year, either in my payslip or on my P60 - part of the sum was deducted from my salary and therefore showed up in both my P60 and payslip. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
