    Last year UB offered me a 2 year fixed rate of 1.95% to come off my ECB+.7% tracker. I ignored the letter and they rang me a few days later. I declined the offer. The very next day the ECB reduced their rate by a further .25%

    Re: Faulty appliance bought on line Was the dishwasher faulty at the dime of delivery, or did it develop a fault after. The way that directive is written is the seller is liable for postage if the goods are fauly at time of delivery only.

    Re: Faulty appliance bought on line Can you contact the Manufacturer directly about getting the replacement. Sending back faulty goods at your own cost does appear to be standard practice with online retailers, not sure of the EU law on the matter.

    What are people doing with mortgage interest 'savings'?

    ECB + .7% tracker. Overpaying our mortgage for the past year, The rate cuts go straght off the capital. 2 years into a 35yr mortgage. If we can keep going ae we are we will be mortgage free in 14yrs.

    Do a shop around for remortgaging. Get the best offer and go back to First active and ask them to match. If you are a good customer they will not want to lose you. I did that with Ulsterbank and got ECB+0.7% tracker for the remaining life of the mortgage - 30yrs on 80% LTV
