Laya Will Laya cover tests done in London Hospital?

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of having UK tests covered by LAYA or any other healthcare company. We are on CompanyHealth Plus (Excess). I have a letter from a consultant here stating that these tests are not available in Ireland.

    Recommend a Book

I agree with recommendations for Before I Go To Sleep if you're looking for a thriller. Also I recently read Don't Tell by Karen Rose as I was looking for a new series of thrillers and I had heard she was very good. Excellent page-turner of a book. Will definitely read more of hers.

Recommendations for tasty and good value coeliac foods.

My husband was recently diagnosed with coeliac disease and I tried to make queen cakes for him using half cornflour and half Odlums Tritamyl flour (in the purple/pinkish bag). Disaster! They all sank in the middle. Someone advised me to use Xanthan Gum to replace the gluten. I would love to...

    Passport Advice urgently needed

Interesting. I will pass on this information to them, although it will be a gamble. The girl I spoke to at the embassy used to work for an airline and she feels that there will be no issue with immigration as La Rochelle is fairly laid back as airports go. The issue will be with Ryanair as they...

    Passport Advice urgently needed

That's an excellent idea - and so obvious that none of us thought of it! At least they have another option. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

    Passport Advice urgently needed

Thanks for the advice.I eventually got through to the Passport Office and advised me to get onto the embassy in Paris and I've done that. It looks like they will have to travel to Paris to get an emergency travel cert.

    Passport Advice urgently needed

My sister-in-law is in France on holidays. Her two daughters aged 13 and 15 are travelling on her passport. Her older girl turns 16 two days before she flies back and will no longer be eligible to travel on her mothers passport, which doesn't expire until March 2014. They were told by...

    Saorview Ready TV Enquiry

Mine is a Bush TV also - Model BTVDi31227. It has a built-in (rather delicate) DVD player on one side and an ipod dock in the front. It is MPEG2 compatible and there was a sticker on the box when I bought it stating that it was not Saorview (MPEG4) compatible. I'm hoping the DVD player gives...

    Tenerife or Lanzarote?

We've been to both and Puerta del Carmen in Lanzarote wins hands down. We've gone back twice more to P del C. We were bored in Teneriffe so hubby rented a car which was nice but kids were not impressed. If you are planning to go during mid-term at the end of October, be warned that the water...

    Saorview Ready TV Enquiry

I've always found the Argos returns policy to be very good but I bought a TV in January that was not compatible with Saorview. I also found that DVD jammed/skipped intermittently. Argos in Mahon Point refused to take it back because it played perfectly in the shop. Anyway, the jamming thing...

    Doors Opening Causing Damage

If possible, I always try to park next to the most expensive car I see because if they are less likely to bang their door off my car!

When's the last time you sent a FAX?

We are a small construction company and our office is in our spare room. Every four months or so, we are woken up by the fax machine at 3.00am (always on a weekend) as it spits out special offers from a scaffolding company! I have faxed back telling them to cease and desist but no joy! I know...

Laser Card -How much can you spend in a day?

Thanks for all the replies. AIB just informed me that you can only withdraw up to €250 on your Laser Card when abroad!! And his card might not be recognised outside of Ireland for purchases! He was going to buy at Dixons at the airport so they might be more open to accepting "foreign" debit cards.

Laser Card -How much can you spend in a day?

My son has an AIB Laser Card and is coming home from London tomorrow. I know the cash withdrawal limit is €600 per day. If I was to ask him to pick up an iPad for me (which would cost more than €600) would the cash withdrawal limit apply?

PAYE gone up 15 euro per week

If your tax credits etc. haven't changed, then it seems like your employer was deducting too little tax up to now and he is now correcting it. Can you calculate your wages manually for this week? Take your gross & multiply by 20% or 41% (not sure of rates) and subtract your credit from your...

Can anyone tell me how to "send" a copy of my eircom emails to my gmail Account?

I am paranoid about losing my emails in the event of computer failure. My brother tells me thatI should be able to send a copy of them to a webmail account but he cannot tell me how to do it! And I can't figure out how to do it either. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Timber Decking or Paving, Which do you recommend?

We replaced our patio with decking and I wish we hadn't. I have fallen numerous times on it. One day I was just walking across it to the back door, key ready, next minute I was on the flat of my back! There are a lot of trees around us so the deck gets quite mossy - even with regular...
