Yes you would be eligible for both tax and PRSI relief - these reliefs will (or should) be given automatically if you're purchasing NS through your payroll.

I would imagine that your personnel file is being held in the HR section of whatever Department took on the functions of your former Department. So your best place to start is with the HR Section...

You assumption is correct Dave, but you must bear in mind that far too many paid Union Officials aren't among the brightest stars in the firmament.

Remember that they would get tax and PRSI relief on that, making the net cost closer to €60K (assuming tax relief at 41%) - not bad for 6 years added service!
