It's usually 1kw/single rad. Most companies websites have a calculator that allow you put in room details so you can get the spec size for your stove. Thats what we did and it's fine.

Don't know how to turn WIFI off on modem, I assume using a yellow LAN cable between modem and laptop with wifi turned off on laptop is the same thing.
