Just wondering what other websites folks on AAM like to visit - whether financial or non-financial related.

As someone who adores the mathematical aspects of gambling, oddschecker and betfair are my two weaknesses....

Propertypin as I was in the market for a few years for a house and it was a good place to discuss all things property related

Boards.ie - Travel, Property sections and the Bargain Alerts forum has also saved me quiet a bit over the years

Ah come on Purple - I was trying to introduce something light, partly as a contrast to the mammoth debate you are elsewhere engaged in.

Given your aversion to people telling lies, how the hell am I to answer your question??!!

Next you'll be asking when did I stop beating the wife!!

I was just asking because if porn is out then most of the sites I visit are off the list :D

I know.....I was just messing. (Plus, I don't need any more recommendations in the aforementioned category!)

Broadsheet.ie for an alternative view of the world to my own personal politics. It can be funny as well sometimes
BBC for sport and news and ESPN for American sport.

I'm not big into websites though, I use Zinio for digital magazines, for example, you can get a subscription to US magazines like the Smithsonian, New Yorker or Atlantic for $10-$50 per annum

http://www.aldaily.com

A digest of magazine articles from around the world. In among some self-important literary criticism dross ! lots of interesting articles on some unexpected topics.

peoplesrepublicofcork.com and onto the Langers Forum . . . . . . rivetting reading but ensure you have the Oxford Dictionary at hand.

You know if you're a member of a library you can get free Zinio access to some of these magazines? Certainly the New Yorker.

I'm on boards too. Guardian and the Journal (for my sins, really shouldn't read the comments though).

Sorry for the dumb question, but does Zinio work when you are on your own network or only when you are at the library and connected to their wifi?

Zinio is an app and it works fine at home for me. That's because some of my preferred mags weren't available via the local library. Press Reader is another alternative, especially for downloading digital copies of American newspapers

As the daddyman says it's an app. You can also get notifications of new issues of magazines, one thing to be aware of is that sometimes the number of downloads per library is limited. If I don't download the new issue of the Economist early on a Saturday I will not be able to download it as too many others have downloaded it.
