Hi, I currently have VHI PMI 36 13. I've tried comparisons on the hit.ie site but there are just so many and I've now confused myself!

Just wondering if you have any advice on whether this is a good plan for a person in their 40's, no children. I like having day to day coverage for things like GP visits etc but not if I'm paying over the top to have it. I'd probably see the GP 5-7 times a year, so if I did claim x 7 I'd get €175 back on my current plan.

Any advice much appreciated.

Thank you.

The only cheaper VHI plan worth considering with day to day cover, is Company Plan Plus Level 1.3, with one compromise, private hospital excess 150 per admission. Price 1172pa;
Alternatively, PMI 37 13; price 1076 would have no day to day benefits. If you had 7 gp visits a year, it works out the same as PMI 36 13 overall
because of the price difference.

There are a few options worth considering with Laya or Glohealth as follows;
1. Simply Connect Plus; price 1099pa; similar hospital cover as before, max excess 150 x 1, day to day cover, max refund 500 pa, unlimited gp visits.
2. Connect Choice; price 1170pa; similar hospital cover, 125 excess, good day to day cover 75% refund per gp visit, unlimited visits.
3. Total Health Complete; price 1144pa; similar hospital cover, 125 excess, good day to cover, 50% refund per gp visit, unlimited visits.
4. Glohealth Best Smart Plan; price 1162pa. similar hospital cover, 100 excess, good day to day cover, 25 gp unlimited visits.
