Hello there

I am a tenant with no lease and my tenancy is not registered at the PRTB either, what i am trying to find out is how much my landlord is able to save in tax (if anything at all) in the current scenario.

Thanks for your help

If the landlord has no loan on the property he is not saving anything on tax. However, if he hasn't registered then it may be likely that he is trying to avoid the taxman altogether. He is breaking the law btw by not registering you. I'm curious as to why you ask though.

Trying to negotiate a reduction in rent / avoid a rent increase by using it as leverage perhaps?

How come you have no lease - how long have you lived there?
Easy for a landlord to retrospectively register with PRTB.
Guessing he must not have a mortgage though as PRTB is a requirement to get the interest deduction (or should I say the 75% only reduction).
May well be true of course but wouldn't assume he's not paying tax.
In the current environment if you are happy there I would advise a little caution if planning on certain tactics.
They could backfire of course and then you could find the landlord finding a reason to have you leave. Not easy to find a place currently.
