jeep tax issue

up to november 2007 i was self employed , and in august that year i bought a commercial jeep for work , and first payment was due in 2008 . by november 2007 i was out of work .

in 2008 i moved to uk and became paye , but kept the jeep as would loose too much to sell , so i paid tax in uk as a paye and keep up payments for jeep out of my net salary . so in effect what i saved was spent trying to keep the jeep

i spent 4 years there and jeep completely paid for out of my savings after paying tax in uk .

in 2012 i return to ireland and set up as a self empolyed person again . jeep now fully paid for out of my uk savings . plan was to use it for work

because i am using the jeep now for work that was paid from my savings in the uk whilst a paye , should i not be able to deduct some expenses from my business as a sole trader to pay back my savings account?

accountant thought i was crazy . complete nonense she said . my argument was i used my savings on which tax was paid to provide a vehicle for work now as a self employed person .

if i am crazy , be kind to me .

it would be same as borrowing money from a person and i owe it back to them .

your thoughts please

I would suggest that 12.5% of the 2008 value over the remainder of 8 years.
