A public meeting in Cork or Limerick?

Hi folks

We are looking at different ways to keep the issue on the public agenda.

The public meeting in Dublin got some good media coverage, even if the attendance was poor.

One suggestion was to have further meetings outside Dublin.

A meeting in the Minister's constituency might highlight the issue.

From a population point of view, Cork would be the best to get an attendance.

If we were to organise this, would you attend or help to organise?

Brendan

Great Idea Brendan.

I will be sure to attend as most of my work is situated in Cork.

I feel Cork should be the next location and I am available to help with organising same

A great idea Brendan,Cork or Limerick, in the ministers backyard are probably the best venue suggestions. I do hope you get a better response to it than I got when I suggested a public meeting in the Midlands, Tullamore being the town I mentioned. I discontinued the idea as I felt that if I didn't get much of a response on this forum I feel I wouldn't anywhere else, i got 1 reply. Also the fact that the attendance at the burlington wasn't great although the publicity was and I neither wished to risk doing damage to the campaign or risk what few bob I have left after ive paid my mortgage in publicising and running it. I'm based in Dublin so unfortunately I'm not in a position to help with a Cork or Limerick meeting. I'd better mention that my reason for mentioning tullamore and the midlands is that my partners from down that way.

I would be willing to attend in both locations. The government parties will be having their think tank meetings in the next week or so and now is a good time to exert some pressure.

I'm interested in attending, Limerick being closer.
If coming to Cork try and get some publicity on the local radio stations which have a big listening following. Neil Prendeville on Red FM creates much interest as does the other station 96 FM. While i admire the efforts to keep this important item on the agenda I think the Government has plenty of other issues that will keep them fully occupied for a while.
