Want to switch credit card but limit is going to be lower

Hello all,
I want to switch credit card to a different bank's one. Limit on old card was 10k. New card will be 5k.

Not necessarily a deal breaker but do you know if and how credit card companies decide to increase max limits? In particular Perm TSB. Will mine increase over time?

Thankfully, they no longer raise credit limits automatically (it was banned a few years ago), you need to request the raise and they can then refuse or approve it.

If a larger credit limit is important to you, I'd discuss this with PTSB before you switch.
I couldn't have a better financial history with them, but when I looked for a trivial 500 euro limit increase recently, they would not consider this unless I submitted 3 years certified accounts from my partnership business. Even though I've a direct debit set up to clear the card in full every month & had a significant amount on deposit with them - ridiculous isn't even the word!
