Does a child have to pay tax on earnings?

Hi, my ten year old son will be doing some work with an animation company (voice over) and I am wondering will he have to pay tax on his income? And if he does, is there a way to minimize the tax that he will pay? Thanks in advance for any advice.

In short, he'd be taxed on his income in the same way as other earners (i.e. subject to the same rates and allowances). I would imagine he won't be subject to income tax if his annual income isn't material but there's little or no way to avoid PRSI and USC unfortunately!
