I have a large negative equity mortgage where my ex has disappeared. I have completed an updated SFS for BOI review, this SFS arrangement been happening every year for the past 5 years. However this time I have received an email asking me to fill out the completed signed form below. This is strange because there is already a segment in the SFS where you declare your marital status.
Also, this is a new development compared to previous SFS, Anyone have any advice about whether this is some kind of legally binding acknowledgement?
Confused.

Hi Looking

This seems reasonable to me.

I don't think that there is anything which commits you to do anything, which you should be doing already anyway.

I have just received the same form and am looking to send it back. There is one concern though. It says at the bottom that "I agree to make every reasonable effort to ensure that my former spouse / partner is made aware of and involved in the MARP process as a joint party to the mortgage". I have not seen or heard from this person in years and i will not make any effort to get in touch with them about this process as they are not making financial contributions. The only reason i am in the MARP process is because i have been forced to pay this on my own. Should i still sign and send back?

I would advise sign and send back. If you are not in contact with your spouse/partner and do not have an address for him/her then there should be no issue for concern.
