My insurance is due next month, and i was wondering what the best company + cheapest would be, as my present insurance is gone up to an unaffordable amount this year. 460 euro

The answer to your question is nobody knows!
I'm sure open drive would be pricier than you plus named drivers.Could you look for this or do you need open drive?

if you really need open drive I would be grabbing that price with two hands. Its unusually cheap! I fear you may be misunderstanding open drive!

Alot of people seem to mis understand open drive - the majority of policies allow you to drive any other persons car as long as it is insured and you have the owners authority to drive. Open drive is completely different and allows anybody to drive your car and your insurance company to cover it.

It is generally alot more expensive than €460

I suppose i will have to get open driving for my needs and just have to pay up. thanks you guys for all the advice...

I have fully comp on my 07 car with Axa. Last year was 350 just for me and partner as drivers, this year it's 350 for anyone 25 to 70 with full Irish licence to drive it. I thought that was very good, having read about big increases in insurance.

Did you request the change to open drive?
