You might give us a hint, just a little one as to what on earth the settlement meeting is about, is it a bank, a will a dispute.

It's a surprise!

Oh and it is very important to keep it all very hush hush

Are you separating from our spouse? Is a divorce not the best solution ? An amicable one. It's better to sit down each of you and make a list of who gets what, while trying to be as reasonable as possible, it would speed things up if you both did this before a meeting. You need to also list your assets, property, pensions, savings, income etc. Is the meeting with a solicitor? Have you enquired as to costs. You should, and you should also get a S68 letter.

My spouse refuses to work while having a huge debt. She tried to sell a property without my consent - so that if we separate- she would be entitled to my house.

Milamber, are you based in Ireland? If not, this isn't the right site for you as it's an Irish site.

If English isn't your first language, my apologies; but it's very hard to make sense of what you are posting.

Have you tried a to get a mediated settlement agreement? Have you instructed a solicitor? Do you have children from the marriage? How long have you been living apart?

There are children in the marriage. Based in Ireland. Not got to the Mediated Settlement Agreement idea yet. Waiting on them. They tried to dispose of assets in order to try and gain house after she was unfaithful. Therefore it will be a judicial case.

Ok, I'm sorry I can't make head nor tail of what you are saying or even what question you are asking.

As far as I know all divorce in Ireland is no-fault, so I'm not sure any of this matters. Attempting to dispose of the house is fraud, but that's seperate to divorce and would apply even if you stayed together.

I tried the mediation approach but failed. After one session. It now goes to the circuit court and there will be no deed of separation- there may be a settlement meeting by I don't know.

Settlement involves getting help for depression for her behaviour, cheating, custody, two properties, only one income, unwillingness to get work or help out.

I don't think any of this would be touched by a separation agreement.
