What should I do with my car (leaving country)

Hey guys,

I'm leaving the country in a month or so. I have a car that drives well but it's NCT runs out in August. I know it won't pass that at the moment because it needs a few expensive changes which I haven't implemented as I'm leaving anyway.

So I have a car that is functioning well but needs a fair bit of work to pass the NCT, work that could end up approaching it's total value (maybe 2k).

If I scrap it i'll get a meagre €300. Is there any other more financially viable option? I have no relatives to pass it on to and nobody will buy it with the NCT pending and lots of work needed.

Will a garage not buy it. How much will the work cost. Sounds like a nightmare car to buy, why would anyone want a car that needs a lot of work !

4 new Chinese tyres are about 250,a scrap mirror say 50.Are you saying 1700 for an ABS pump?

I have no idea how much a new ABS would cost

When I brought it to garage they said most likely ABS, but not 100% sure unless run VW diagnositics
