Re-registration for VAT

Just looked in ROS and re-registration is not an option.
The registration was ceased several years ago.
It still allows the making of VAT payments so if the threshold will not be met can the VAT just be paid without re-registration?

Essentially, No. You will need to re-register. This can be done quite easily through ROS.

I don't think that you can actually re-register on ROS make contact with the Tax Office to reactivate your number.

Apologies, as a Tax agent we have more options and facilities to us in ROS. These may not be available to the regular user. Jo is correct, you may simply re-register by phoning your local tax office, otherwise your accountant/tax agent can do this for you through ROS.

Just to close it off, sent them email, got form back in post, filled it out and returned it with covering letter to explain the business, a few days later it was reopened in ROS.
So can pay the vat now, set up the RDI so happy days.

Just to note, there was no communication to say I was back in VAT payment business on ROS

Okay, first VAT period ended, set up an RDI for yesterday 23rd for[ May June period] and did VAT 3 return on ROS but paid nothing as I expected the RDI to do it.
Not gone from Bank today.
Whats the timing for an RDI set up to go on 23rd of Month

Thanks, just got a receipt for the RDI now, 00:18 on 26th, they say they got it on 24th, so they must have upped the game
