Hi, just wondering if anyone has ever gotten a deal with BOSI to write off any negative equity. I know its a long shot and I know we are paying every month so its of no benefit to them to write off anything but I was hoping as they wanted to get out of the irish market they might do something. Thanks in advance

How important is retaining the family home to you? Which of the following best describes your situation?

We would like to sell the house either now or in the near future and relocate to another part of the country and purchase a house for roughly €150,000

Why would a lender write off your negative equity? As you say there's nothing in it for them and they have a duty to act in the best interests of their shareholders - not their borrowers.

There are several reasons why you might not qualify for an adequate mortgage, if you sell up and move, have you considered this possibility ?
