Hello. I would like to apply for carers allowance as I care for my mother who has Alzheimers. I am part time self employed and my husband is an PAYE employee. He earns 3100 per month and i earn €300 per month after tax. We have 2 children under 18. Maths is not my thing so i haven't an idea how this would affect us. Would we be likely to gain anything ? Would it put us in a higher tax bracket? Thanks very much for your time in this. Aly
