Invalidity pension

Was involved in an accident nearly two years ago. In and out of hospital. One major surgery and 7 day cases for pain block etc. Am on illness benefit for the past 16 months. Can anybody advise when applying for the above benefit apart from filling out the form what other info or how much detailed info I should forward apart from what is required on the application form.
