Employment Contract

Hi all,

I am not sure if this is the correct area. I am working for a company for over a year and since starting I was offered shares and bonuses both verbally and in a draft contract, to this day nothing has been signed off. What approach can I take to ensure that I am not left without being given what I'm owed.

When you say draft contract, have you not yet signed a contract?

You are entitled to A contract on joining a company within 2 months. The company is in breech if not supplied within two months.

However, as no contract has been supplied specifics like share options etc would be very hard to enforce, IMO. If anything an unsigned contract may imply such was considered but not adopted.

You may need to speak to a solicitor. If it was me I'd talk to the company first and be positive. 'Guys I need to get my share options tied down in a contract' - or words to that effect.

Actually, I would not mention the shares but that you need the contract! Say someone raised a problem that they are having with no contract and it's spurred you to get yours finally sorted....

There's a reason contracts get written down and witnessed.

Have you proof/witness to the agreement?
