Stain Away Paint

Hi
Has anyone heard of a paint called Stain Away that can be used say on Bathroom ceilings where lot of condensation and ceiling prone to having black spots about on it

Black spots disappear when you wipe with cloth but constant wiping removing the paint

A Plumber recommended paint called Stain Away once

Anyone heard of it or know of anywhere in Dublin you can buy it

Hi, I've used in the past (well my painter did) - just picked it up in the local paint store (try B&Q / local paint store)... You can also get special "mould resistant paint" for bathrooms that is supposed to help in high condensation areas.

All these are good - but not a long tern solution - ideally, you need to tackle the issue in relation to what is causing the mould spots / dampness... maybe installing extractor fan in the bathroom?

Never heard of it but it's probably a Shellac based paint/primer. I've use such in the past to cover water stains on the ceiling and it worked well. Should be available in any decent Hardware.

Those products will improve the ceiling, but as Jazz01 says, unless the concensation/ humidity issue is resolved, it will just manifest itself elsewhere.
