Two gripes really.

RTE.
1. Why do they insist starting the evening weather forecast with a long explanation of what weather has been happening during the day.I already know what the weather has been like.Don't waste my time.Fortunately Gerry Murphy has stopped his habit of opening up the nightly forecast with the words " Hello and a very good night to you. " Madness.
2. The graphics are terrible - unlike say Sky and the BBC which give a moving hourly prediction of the weather that's coming up.

1. The website is a mess. You get a short written summary of the weather for today and tomorrow.Any further ahead than that and you have to use a five-day predictor separately for wind, rain and temperatures that takes a degree to understand.
Yet go onto a site such as Accuweather and it's clear and precise in easy to understand symbols

I just use Clear Day which runs on my Mac. It uses a variety of data sources and pictures from NASA, gives simple-to-understand current, three-hourly and 7-day weather pictures in summary form. I could sell localised (my village and surrounding area) succinct weather information to RTE or Met Eireann. Time to change

On an evening RTE go all around the world with the weather and briefly mention Ireland at the end. S Ireland doesn't even exist on BBC and ITV

A bit! Family visits like birthdays and Christmas, sporting events, week-ends away keep me busy!

The weather features as an opening gambit in a lot of Irish conversation so it's useful to be informed. "Grand day." "Not in Ardee, it's pissing down, nor in Shannon where there's a gale blowing and all flights are diverted to Nenagh International Airport."
