Hi,

the new Companies Act 2014 was signed into law
at the end Dec 2014
and is expected to be effective from June 2015.

I am a small shareholder in a private company.
I'm not a director.

I have seen newspapers articles about the
changes for companies and directors.

can anyone give me any information as to
how the new Act will affect shareholders
or if there are any less rights or entitlements etc
for shareholders than previously ?

Any feedback or info would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Many changes - best to follow it on the CRO website or other websites. You can do a seminar on it but you may fall asleep. Due to be commenced 1st June 2015 so it does not apply at the moment.

As dublin66 suggests, you couldn't possibly summarise the implications of the new Act in a forum like this. The CRO web site is good. If you are looking for more detailed information, you could try the various web sites of the leading firms of solicitors. [broken link removed] has particularly good information. (One of their partners, Tom Courtney, was chairman of the Company Law Review Group.)
