Is the wife of a company director who has no shares in the company (non-proprietary) entitled to the PAYE tax credit?

Is it the wife or the director who has no shares? The spouse of a proprietary director is not entitled to a PAYE credit regardless of whether they hold any shares themselves. Basically if the husband doesn't qualify for PAYE credit, neither does the wife.

Of course, this only applies if she is working for the husband's company, if she is working for an unrelated company she does get PAYE credit.

Yes its the wife who has no shares. The husband has all the shares (so doesn't qualify for the credit). So basically she is not entitled to the credit then?
