my girlfriend was made unemployed just over a year ago and since then she has been on benefit of €188 + one child think its an extra €30 a week.

Recently we have moved house and when she went to the local center to register the change they asked her for a recent payslip for me otherwise her payment would be stopped which i figure is bizarre as we have never had this issue before.

Anyway my heart is racing as im freaking out thinking they are going to stop her payment as we badly need it and wont even be able to pay the rent let alone bills if they do. To make matters worse we have another kid due in the summer :/

I cant seem to find any information about cut offs or allowed levels of salary for a partner when cohabiting online, can anybody advise? my take home after tax is just above €400 euro.

I take it you mean that Social Welfare want your payslip, not Revenue.

It's likely that her Jobseeker's benefit has run out (or is about to run out) so she will now be means-tested for Jobseeker's Allowance.

The means test is explained on this page:
http://www.citizensinformation.ie/e...e_payments/work_and_jobseekers_allowance.html
Look for the heading "Spouse's, Civil Partner's or cohabitant's income from work" about 2/3 down the page.

thanks for the reply gipimann, yup i meant the social welfare office not revenue

as far as i know her payment ran out previously and she was swapped from benefit to allowance or the other way around i cant recall

Then they are just checking that your circumstances have not changed. If they haven't then it's no problem.

When her jobseekers benefit payment ran out and she applied for jobseekers allowance did she fill in your income details in the form?

A trip to a Citizens Information office might be an idea, they could work out for you what payment she is entitled to, it may be the case that Family Income Supplement would be a better payment than Jobseekers.
