Hi,

I recently left Greenstar Bins as I got a better deal. I have asked them for a refund of the €14 credit on my pre-pay card. They say because it is below €20 I can't get it back.

The only info I can find on their website about refunds is in connection with contract accounts which doesn't relate to me, I was pay as you go.

Am I entitled to it back, does anyone know? Thanks!

Can you not put another €6 on the pre-pay card and then ask for a refund of €20?

michaelm, thanks...I thought I wouldn't be able to log into the account anymore as we left over a month ago but I can. I suppose I could chance it, by their rules they'd have to refund it then surely...

Your account balance is equivalent to store credit or a gift voucher. AFAIK no statutory entitlement to a cash refund (unless perhaps they stop servicing your area). I'd say you're at the mercy of the company's policies here.

trasneoir, yes they said I could use it if I keep my account open with them but my bins have been taken, I am now with new crowd. The minimum top up is €10. They say they do refund amounts over €20 but the fact that I contacted them, means they might see that I topped up by €10 and refuse to refund the €24, that would be annoying. I might just leave it and use the credit if I go back to them.
