upc basic installation - broadband and phone

I have the old upc installation with coaxial cable with provides me with a basic tv package. I want to keep this as it suits my needs. The house is newly wired for fibre. I am thinking of getting the upc broadband and phone package. If I go for that will the engineers doing the install leave my old coaxial TV cable intact?
 
Sorry I can't comment on the cableing but from what I hear from others and see on the net I wouldn't accept Horizon if they offer it, too many problems.

AFAIK UPC still use co-ax into the house, so all insitu cabling will stay as per. unless faulty, which will be replaced with co-ax.
The only place co-ax is not used is beyond their modem/router/decoder.

When you say "The house is newly wired for fibre" what exactly do you mean?
 
From reading your posts Brendan you have had a lot more patience than I would have shown. I find our package grand even if the present box is a little on the slow side. I would prefer to hold on to our recordings also.
