Should I withdraw claim in the hope that the revised legislation may suit me better

I agree that the Council should have an oversight role with a view to ensuring that the Ombudsman's office is
interpreting the law correctly.

I have a complaint with the FSO which is similar to the example above - where there is a dispute over something which happened over 6 years ago which is relevant but separate to a complaint about a bank's behaviour in 2011. I wonder would I be better off withdrawing my case from the FSO and waiting for the new remit of the FSO to be determined and then resubmitting the complaint. I`m concerned the current FSO will reject the complaint and the revised timelines for FSO complaints will not apply to complaints previously rejected by the FSO. Is there any planned timeline for the new FSO legislation to be put in place?

It's not easy to understand what you are asking here. You should be more specific.

If the FSO decides not to hear your complaint because it is over 6 years old, but the time period is extended, then you probably will be able to resubmit your complaint under the new rules.

If the FSO rejects your complaint on its merits, then I doubt if the new rules will help.
