How to get furniture from UK to Ireland?

I'm looking to buy some large household stuff via an online auction in the UK and need to get it couriered to Ireland. Does anybody have any recommendations of good courier companies at affordable prices for this?
http://www.johnpye.co.uk/ is the auction company with auctions in Nottingham and London that you have to pick up from a few days after purchase.

Should I go to DPD / Fastway or is there a slowboat cheapo option?

I can't recommend a specifc provider as it is 12 years since I moved home from the UK but it you look at the Irish Post newspaper you'll usually see ads for moving companies, Chances are you'll get a copy in your local Eason's
