If case anyone else is looking at navigating the minefield of fees when starting out I've linked to the fees documents for TD Direct and Keytrade below which seem to be fairly comprehensive. Unfortunately TD Ameritrade don't seem to have a similar all-in-one type document.
It's hard to make a fully informed comparison particularly considering TD Ameritrade is US based and no doubt subject to FOREX fees and possibly fund transfer fees.
