Hi
Anyone know if there is a way/shortcut to force downloaded windows updates on windows 7 to install

The shut down button has the indicator on it indicating that there are updates to be installed but no matter how many times I either shut down the computer or restart it the windows updates wont install.

Eventually maybe after several hours it will decide itself to install them when I do a shut down or restart

Are there any shortcuts keys or tips and tricks to force these downloaded updates that are ready to install to actually install

Thanks

Now, I wouldn't call myself an expert in computers though I have had them since the days of DOS (just showing my age!)

Is your windows 7 a registered version (i.e. a legal version)?

Before I install any updates, I go to the Control Panel and select Windows Updates.
Then you can check which updates you want to install. You can even do it 1 by 1. Try installing one update at a time in case one update is blocking the others.

As above, choose a few say 3 or 4 to install at a time, because if there is a load of them they just block each other sometimes. No harm to re-boot each time.
