Hi

Heading over to Newcastle soon for a match and looking for accommodation. Tried all the normal ones Jurys, Premier Inn, Travel Lodge etc but for match day they seem to have upped their prices. Looking at Gateshead but the hotel we found is not near the Metro, Premier Inn Team Valley

Anyone recommend a hotel in Newcastle or Gateshead that is near the Metro or any other hotels

Cheers

I stayed in Whites hotel which is about a 25 minute walk from City centre in a place called Jedmund. It's a bit creaky floor but amazingly not that bad for noise etc. Area is good with a few nice shops and a good sporty pub beside the station - Lonsdale

Plenty of B & B's worth trying in Newcastle & Gateshead .

If the worse comes to the worse you could try Sunderland as there is a swift rail connection to the Toon - mind you Sunderland is a depressing kip !

I stayed in the Royal Station before for a game. Its right beside the railway and its about a 15minute walk to James'. http://www.royalstationhotel.com/

I've also stayed at the Premier Inn, which is about the same distance away.

Newcastle is small, so James' is really in walking distance wherever you stay in city centre. HTH

[EDIT]Just saw you already tried Premier Inn, so ignore that suggestion!

Thanks for the replies.

I searched and found a hotel in Jesmond. Have stayed in Sunderland for a game there yep pretty depressing but sound folk. Not great reviews on Trip Advisor for the hotel but its only for one night and try to not pay to much attention to reviews on that site. Its on the Metro line so that's perfect, and now for an Away win.

Cheers
